Personal Information Consent

This notice explains how the Yuan Xiang Overseas website collects and uses your personal information, and who that information is passed to. Please read it in full before using any contact form on this site.

1. Who collects and processes your information

This site is operated by the entity below, which receives and holds the information you submit:

2. What information we collect

We limit collection to the minimum needed to provide advice. The fields actually collected are:

2.3 Technical information collected automatically

Lead reference, submission time, source channel tag, landing page URL
IP address (stored only as an irreversible salted hash; the original is not retained and is used solely to detect duplicate submissions)
Browsing events (page views, assessment started/completed, contact form submitted, etc.)

We do not collect: national ID numbers, passport numbers, bank account numbers, biometric data, location history, or medical or health information. This form involves no sensitive personal information; if a specific programme later requires it, we will notify you separately and obtain your separate consent.

3. Why we use this information

To generate and deliver your assessment report (matching universities and pathways to the options you selected)
To contact you through the channel you chose and walk you through it one to one
To provide advisory and application services — actually delivered by the recipient named in clause 4 below
To improve this site's content and experience using aggregated data (containing no personal identifiers)
To send policy-deadline reminders (only if you actively tick that option)

Under Article 23 of the PIPL, this transfer requires your separate consent — that is what the second, standalone checkbox on the contact form refers to.

Other than the recipient above, we do not sell or provide your personal information to any other third party, and we do not publish it. If your specific needs later require sharing information with overseas universities, lawyers or programme providers, we will tell you in advance the overseas recipient's name and contact details, the purpose and method of processing and the categories of information, and obtain your separate consent.

5. Retention period and storage location

Retention: 24 months from the date you submit. If you tell us during that period that you no longer wish to be contacted, or withdraw consent, we will delete or anonymise your information within 15 working days.
Storage location: within the People's Republic of China To be completed: server region; not stored on servers outside mainland China.

6. Your rights and how to exercise them

You may make a request free of charge at any time using the contact details in clause 10. We will respond and act within 15 working days of receipt:

Access and copies: know what information we hold about you and receive a copy
Correction and completion: have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
Deletion: require your personal information to be deleted (including any part already provided to the recipient)
Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out)
Portability: require your information to be transferred to another controller you designate

If you do not provide information: the public content and the free assessment on this site remain available, but without contact details we cannot deliver the full report or follow up with you.

7. Information about minors

This site addresses adult study abroad and residency planning and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are arranging study abroad for a minor, a guardian should complete the form; a guardian's submission is treated as having read and agreed to this notice in full.

8. Automated decision-making

The "matching assessment" on this site is deterministic rule matching based on the options you select and public data. It does not profile you in order to make decisions with a significant impact on your rights, and there is no differential pricing. Results are indicative only and are not a promise of admission, approval or investment return, nor legal advice or immigration advice.

9. Security measures we take

HTTPS across the site; interfaces and pages deployed separately
Data held on our own servers; access restricted to authorised staff with tokens; no database port exposed to the public internet
Server logs mask contact details (for example 138****8000); contact details are not written to runtime logs
Lead lookup and deletion require an administrator token; interfaces are rate limited to block bulk scraping
If information is or may be leaked, altered or lost, we activate our incident response plan immediately and report to the competent authority and notify you as required by law

11. Effect and updates

This notice takes effect when you tick the consent box. If its terms change materially, we will post a prominent notice on the site and, where necessary, seek your consent again.

This notice is drawn up under the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China; its order and structure follow the statutory disclosure duty (Article 17) and the rules on providing information to third parties (Article 23). Where you access this site from outside mainland China, we also handle your information in line with the data protection law applicable in your jurisdiction.
